New: A special public lecture on this year's Nobel Prize in Physics (François Englert and Peter W. Higgs) will be held in Monsanto Auditorium of the Life Sciences Building (Thu Nov/7, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm): "Higgs Boson and Beyond: The Big Questions in Particle Physics" by Prof. Mark Neubauer (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). This lecture is open to the public!

    About:

    The Prairie Secton of the American Physical Society will be holding its Fall 2013 meeting in the vibrant city of Columbia MO, home to the state flagship University of Missouri campus. The meeting site will be in the historical Memorial Union, central to the MU campus at an easy walking distance to Downtown Columbia ("the district"). The meeting will start with an informal reception on Thursday evening, Nov/7, and the last session will be in the afternoon of Saturday Nov/10.

    We would like to encourage you to participate in this meeting and suggest participation in this meeting to your students, colleagues, and collaborators.
